The Playhouse dedicates this production to the memory of
Ivan J. Harrison
This show is dedicated to the memory of Ivan J. Harrison, a beloved friend, board member, actor, and technician at the Coronado Playhouse, who recently died of cancer. Ivan immigrated to San Diego from Nottingham, England in 1978 with his wife Rosemary, who survives him, and became a US citizen in 1988. He was an antique furniture restoration specialist by profession, and spent 20 years racing stock cars at the local NASCAR speedway as a hobby. He lovingly tended his 1,500+ orchids in his spare time. In his youth, Ivan was lead singer for Ivan Jaye and the Jaybirds in the 1960s and made over 2,000 appearances throughout Europe. Ivan returned to the stage in 2005, appearing as Warnock Waldgrave in Coronado Playhouse’s production of The Nerd, Joseph in My Three Angels, the multi-faceted Roat in Wait Until Dark (Aubrey nomination), as Captain Hastings in Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee (Aubrey nomination), and as Charles in the Aubrey winning production of Dracula for which he also served as assistant director and stage manager. Other memorable performances include Froggy LaSueur in The Foreigner at Chula Vista’s OnStage Playhouse (Aubrey and Aldea awards), A Christmas Carol for La Jolla Stage Company, and various roles at other San Diego theatres. Ivan will be greatly missed by all the theatre community.
