
Henia Belalia (Assistant Director) After graduating from UCSD’s theatre department, Henia Belalia moved to Spain where she worked directing a young troupe in experimental theatre. She is now back in San Diego, where she will be cooperating with 6th at Penn in their first Human Rights Festival and their newly founded Challenge Theatre program. A year from now, she plans on moving to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to continue exploring experimental theatre techniques overseas.
Her most recent works include: Brooklyn Boy (Assistant Director, San Diego Repertory Theatre), Ashraf Johaardien’s Happy Endings are Extra (Assistant Director, Diversionary Theatre), Challenge Theatre’s War and Quiet Flowers (Stage Manager, 6th at Penn), Brecht’s Fear and Misery in the Third Reich (Director, Spain), Shakespeare’s Othello (Assistant Director, Spain), Camus’ The Misunderstanding (Director, UCSD).
