D. Larry Steckling (Director) Thrilled to be in the director’s chair at Coronado’s newest theatrical venue, Larry brings a wealth of experience to this magical show. He has nine shows to his credit for the Coronado Playhouse (favorites were Last of the Red Hot Lovers and Rumors)and eleven shows for the Lamplighters’ Theater of La Mesa (The Pleasure of His Company, Move Over, Mrs Markham, Chapter Two and Hello Dolly were his most memorable shows.) He is now pleased to add this family classic to his list. Larry is a huge musical theater fan and enjoys directing musicals because it is such a collaborative art. He is very happy to be working closely with Dan Greenbush, Chrissy Burns, and Chris Warner once again. He had the pleasure of working with them on She Loves Me at Lamplighters earlier in the year. Mr. Steckling, a wedding and event planner with his own business, Your Event by Larry, also owns It’s Showtime!, a production company that specializes in entertainment for retirement centers and offers a variety of acting classes for many age groups. Sharon Boskovich (Producer) Sharon is the Director of Marketing for Day Productions, a video/film company. She has been involved as a stage manager and assistant director with Coronado Playhouse for the last several years. She has also acted in many productions at the North Park Vaudeville Theater and recently won a Best Actress award in their 2004 Playwright’s Festival. Chrissy Burns (Choreographer) Chrissy has choreographed over 30 productions in San Diego, nine this year alone. Her productions include Big River, She Loves Me, Becoming, Annie (twice), Side By Side, Music Across America and Seussical.~ On a farm in Kansas there bloomed a rose, in our cast two of the loveliest you have ever seen. In this production we are fortunate enough to have such a talented cast that each and every one of them makes the rose garden grow the moment they walk through the theater doors and onto the stage. “Great dancers are not great because of their technique they are great because of their passion.” I hope we help you to believe in life’s magic, for those who believe make miracles happen. To learn more about Chrissy visit www.dancemaniastudio.com Teena Correia (Stage Manager) Just about every production in the past five years at the Playhouse has been mounted with the tender, loving care of this gentle, hard-working lady. Talented beyond belief, she fashioned the dozen exquisite ball masks for last summer’s staging of Much Ado About Nothing. She contributed greatly to the weird and wonderful set-dressing of Everybody Loves Opal, and provided award-winning costume design for the ladies of Biloxi Blues. In addition, she has stage-managed more than 15 shows here. Lee Dronick (Program and Web Site Design) Lee is a retired Navy Senior Chief. After his military service he worked for several software companies before starting his own graphic design and computer consulting business. Dan Greenbush (Musical Director) Accepted at Julliard at age nine, Dan’s family eventually moved to California where he won numerous scholarships and soloed with the SD Youth Symphony at age fifteen. As an accompanist he has worked with singers from Broadway to the Met. On the faculty of SDSU for eighteen years, Dan functioned as piano teacher, voice coach, staff accompanist and Music Director of the Opera Theatre Program. In musical theater Dan has worked at the SD Rep; Scripps Ranch Theatre (Best Musical Director ‘04); Starlight; Lamplighters; Moonlight; Theatre in Old Town (Forever Plaid); The Avo; Sledgehammer; Patio Playhouse; and, the Old Globe. Rosemary King (Set Design/Construction) Rosemary started painting scenery for On Stage Playhouse in 1978 for the production of All the Way Home. She has participated in the painting, construction, designing of sets for Scripps Ranch Community Theatre, Clairemont Players, OnStage, Poway and Coronado Playhouse for dozens of plays and has received numerous Aubrey nominations and awards. Rosemary says. “This is a work of love and I will continue to do what I can for as long as I can.” Dee Quiroz (Costumer) Dee has been designing and building costumes for local community theatres including Lamplighters and Scripps Ranch Community Theatre. She is a recently retired dressmaker and seamstress who can’t seem to let go of the needle and thread. Gladys Rongey (Munchkin Manager) Gladys has been a producer, props manager and drama teacher at Lamplighter’s Theater and other San Diego theaters for many years. She is delighted to be working at Coronado Playhouse after a long absence and to be working again with so many of her theater friends. Carolyn Sykes (House Manager) This is Carolyn’s third production House Managing at the Coronado Playhouse Pavilion since it opened May 7th this year. She is currently serving on the CPH Board of Directors as Secretary and is in charge of Program Ad Sales. She dabbles in acting “up” in films and commercials, holds an A.A. degree with an emphasis in Theatre Arts and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. When not at the Playhouse, she works as the PR Director at The San Diego Production Centre, as well as jazz and tap dancing with a local dance group. “Thank you, family, for your love and support. “There’s no place like home!” Chris Warner (Lighting Design) Chris has been providing expert lighting design for the last few years for Lamplighters Theatre among others and is working at the Coronado Playhouse for the first time. He is a student at Grossmont College and a fiercely creative individual. We are lucky to have him with us. |
