Jeanne Danis (Opal Kronkie) made her stage debut at the Golden Bough Theater in Carmel-by-the-Sea prior to moving to Coronado where she first appeared at the Playhouse as Amanda in the 1958 production of Private Lives. Since then, she has appeared in dozens of plays here & at OnStage Playhouse, Lamplighters & the Old Globe. A graduate of Northwestern University, she has worked as an advertising copywriter & newspaper reporter & currently edits the Coronado Playhouse newsletter. She has won several acting awards from Associated Community Theaters (ACT). Her most recent acting roles were as Bella in What's Wrong With This Picture? at North Coast Repertory Theater & as Miss Marple in Murder at the Vicarage at Coronado, both in 2001.
Ophelia Blum (Mr Tanner) Ophelia is proud to make her debut at the Coronado Playhouse and finds her cross-gender role of Mr. Tanner to be one of the biggest challenges of her career. Fresh from the national road tour of Cats. Ophelia is glad to be back at home in Southern California. Her dream is to one day land the lead role in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. Ophelia wants to thank Carolyn for her patience, good humor, and tasty reward treats backstage.
Jo Anne Scott (Gloria Gulock) was last seen as Mrs. Calloway in the musical Angels Among Us. In the Shakespeare Festival productions of Hamlet she portrayed Gertrude, The Tempest, Sebastiana & Titania & Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She was Trudy Heyman in Social Security, Felicia in I Hate Hamlet, Janet Mackenzie in A Witness for the Prosecution & Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker. She has won numerous awards for her portrayals as well as for costuming & producing. She currently is Executive Director of the Playhouse.
George Blum (Brad Winter) George recently appeared: at the Coronado Playhouse in Taming of the Shrew (Tranio), Verdict (Sir William Rollander), Hamlet (Horatio), & Solid Gold Cadillac; in the Clairemont Community Players & OnStage productions of Bah, Humbug! (Bob Cratchit); at the La Jolla Stage Company in Taming of the Shrew (Lucentio); & with the Murder Mystery Players in Contract: Death & An Act of Murder.
Richard O'Casey (Solomon Bozo) Born in Limerick, Ireland, Richard is currently writing plays & taking drama classes at Mira Costa College in pursuit of a degree in Dramatic Arts. He is still "pumping iron" & working on playwrighting skills. He has appeared in Taming of the Shrew as Grumio, Hamlet as Rosencrantz & Marcellus, Murder at the Vicarage as Inspector Slack, & The Tempest as Boatswain & as Thomas Andrews in The Titanic, & The Visit.
William Savage (Doctor) A retired mining engineer & educator, has appeared with 14 different college & theatre groups throughout San Diego over the past several years. This is his 11th production with the Coronado Playhouse. His last was as Gremio in The Taming of the Shrew & Dr. Haydock in Murder at the Vicarage. In 2000, he appeared as the Gravedigger in Hamlet for which he received an ACT nomination. Some memorable roles have been: Inherit the Wind (Drummond), King Lear (Gloucester), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Egeus), The Tempest (Gonzalo) As You Like It (Elder Duke), Death of a Salesman (Charley), Of Mice & Men (Candy) & The Deadly Game (The Judge), In addition to acting, William keeps in touch with the mining industry, substitute teaches & enjoys dancing which includes tap & soft-shoe.
Marcus Allen Correia (Officer Jankie), an Imperial Beach resident, retired from the U.S. Naval Air Force in 1992 & became active in theatre, working backstage at the Coronado Playhouse in 1997 for The Tempest. Marcus shared stage-managing duties with his wife Teena for The Uninvited, Rumors, & Murder at the Vicarage. He made his acting debut last February in Murder at the Vicarage & since then has performed in M*A*S*H , The Gospel at Colonus, & The Taming of the Shrew.
