Byron La Due (Willum Cubbert) Byron is returning to the Coronado Playhouse after a long hiatus. He first appeared here in 1979 in a production called Fans and Yanks. In between he has appeared in many productions locally including Company at Starlight, Porn Yesterday at the Fritz, Of Mice and Men at the San Diego Repertory Theatre and The Robber Bridegroom at the Old Globe for which he was awarded an Atlas Award. Byron is sometimes known as “Duke Ladoo”, the brains behind San Diego’s most tasteless comedy crooners, The Piparoos. Byron has played Willum in The Nerd one time before this production. In that production he met and later married his lovely wife, Kathi, who played Tansy.
