George Blum (Don Pedro) George recently appeared: at CPH in Everybody Loves Opal (Professor Brad Winter), Taming of the Shrew (Tranio), Verdict (Sir William Rollander), Hamlet (Horatio), and Solid Gold Cadillac; in the Clairemont Community Players and OnStage productions of Bah, Humbug! (Bob Cratchit); at the La Jolla Stage Company in Taming of the Shrew (Lucentio); and with the Murder Mystery Players in Contract: Death and An Act of Murder.
John Bridges (Borachio) most recently appeared in Barefoot in the Park, Solid Gold Cadillac, Alone Together and Catch Me If You Can. In addition, he has worked as stage and lighting technician for numerous productions. John has a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Oregon University and an MA from the University of Georgia. A financial and budget manager for a collection of community health centers in San Diego, this is his 16th show at CPH.
Terence J. Burke (Claudio) played Laertes in Hamlet, Prospero in The Tempest, and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream outdoors in previous Coronado summers. Earlier this summer, he played Peter Quince and Egeus in the SOHO production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream outdoors at the Whaley House in Old Town. He played Sgt. Trotter in all 52 performances of The Mousetrap at CPH in 2000. He also performed numerous musical roles and has been known to appear on screen on occasion.
Marcus Allen Correia (George Seacole), an Imperial Beach resident, retired from the U.S. Naval Air Force in 1992 and became active in theatre, working backstage at the Coronado Playhouse in 1997 for The Tempest. Marcus shared stage-managing duties with his wife Teena for The Uninvited, Rumors, Everybody Loves Opal, and Murder at the Vicarage. He made his acting debut in Murder at the Vicarage and since then has performed in M*A*S*H , The Gospel at Colonus, The Taming of the Shrew, and Everybody Loves Opal.
Rhianna Cultrona (Ursula) has been active in theatre her entire life. A theatre student throughout high school, she is now a theatre/advertising major in her third year at SDSU. In addition to academic theatre, she has also performed in many venues in the San Diego area including OnStage Playhouse, where she received an award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, and the Fault Line theatre in Hillcrest. Rhianna’s first show at CPH also marks her return to acting after taking an academic sabbatical
Katy Eagar (Margaret) recently moved to San Diego from Hawaii where she has been involved in theater since toddler-hood. She is currently studying playwriting & acting at Mesa College. She was last seen crossing the boards in Marathon Cafe (Sarah/Dancer) & behind the scenes of her first produced play RAIN in the 2001 Fringe Festival in Maui.
Eric Hedberg (Sexton Antonio) Eric holds a BA in Anthropology from SDSU. He has appeared previously at the CPH in The Ritz, The Secret Affaires of Mildred Wild and Sextet. He has also appeared in the Lamplighters Theater production of Pull the Curtain, for which he received an ACT nomination for best supporting actor. Eric, a San Diegan since 1975, is an avid amateur astronomer and is currently working on his MA in Anthropology at SDSU.
Tom Haine (Leonato) is a long time Point Loma resident who has appeared in several community theatre productions, including, most recently, A Majority of One at the Westminster Theatre. Tom appeared in CPH productions of Hamlet in 2000 as Claudius and The Tempest in 1999 as Alonso.Tom has studied acting at the Old Globe and has completed classes in Acting Shakespeare taught by Jonathan McMurtry, Dakin Matthews and Keith Anderson.
Jody E. Hooper (Hero) is a U.S. Navy physician who was stationed in California after earning her M.D.in 1998 at George Washington University. Most recently seen as Violet in Man and Superman at the Torrey Pines Theater, Jody also played Viola in Twelfth Night, Eliza in My Fair Lady and enjoys directing and choreography when not at sea! Jody is delighted to make her Coronado Playhouse debut and sends best wishes to family and friends at home and abroad.
Matthew Joyce (Hugh Oatcake/Balthasar) makes his debut at CPH though he has appeared in numerous plays and films. Matthew has also written and directed several independent shorts that have played at the San Diego Museum of Art and the La Paloma. He is most proud to announce the birth of his entertainment website, www.silverfuel.com.
Jeffrey Lippold (Benedick) has degrees in theatre and English. Shakespeare credits include: Taming of the Shrew (received an ACT nomination for Best Lead Male in a Comedy and CPH Best Actor 2001 for Petruchio), Hamlet (won ACT Aubrey Award for Best Lead Male in a Drama for Hamlet), The Tempest, King Lear, Twelfth Night, As You Like it, Richard II, Henry V, and Romeo and Juliet. Other CPH roles include: Lawrence Redding (Murder at the Vicarage) and Christopher Wren (The Mousetrap-CPH Best Supporting Actor 2000). He also appeared in Alan Ball’s (American Beauty and Six Feet Under) Five Women Wearing the Same Dress and The Secret Garden. Jeff, ex-Navy Spec Warfare Commando, is a black belt instructor in the art of amkajutsu. "I sincerely hope that we may lighten your heart.
Anthony Logan (Verges) from NM, won state track awards while at St. Pius X HS. When he attended University of Notre Dame on a track scholarship, his team placed eighth at nationals. Warm climate drew him to USD to study Psychology/Theatre) Performances include: Carlsbad Playreaders (Night of the Iguana), the Fault Line Theatre (The Mystery Gang), independent films Running for Life and Seven Petals. Anthony, who ran the mile in 4:08, is the West Coast Conference Cross-Country champion. Future plans include an MFA in playwrighting and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece.
Amy H. Mayer (Beatrice) appeared at CPH in Verdict and The Taming of the Shrew and earned Aubrey nominations for both. TV credits include a guest starring role in Steven Spielberg’s High Incident, a co-starring role on E.R., a starring role in Unsolved Mysteries, several episodes of Days of Our Lives, over 20 commercials, and three independent films. After spending 10 years in LA, Amy is very happy to be in San Diego doing theatre again. She was just seen in the Fritz Blitz one act play, "Like a War", and is playing a "shopaholic" wife in The Married Men’s Club, now filming in San Diego.
Marat (Don John) is excited to make his San Diego debut at CPH. Marat’s stage performances include: Taming of the Shrew, MacBeth, Brighton Beach Memoirs (Eugene), and Versions of Lust and Disgust. Marat was involved with KPBS and performed on live television introducing various children’s programming and became a spokesperson for Sesame Street. Special thanks to family, friends and dear wife Alena for helping make his return to the stage.
Bob Mutch (Conrade) Much Ado marks Bob’s first performing role for the Coronado Playhouse, having served as light and sound technician here, for The Tempest in 1999. By day, he works as a graphics coordinator at a north county archaeology firm, while moonlighting as a consultant (PickBobsBrain.com), and as a student at SDSU.
William S. Savage (Friar Francis) has appeared with 14 SD theatre groups This is his 12th show at CPH. Last seen as the doctor in Everybody Loves Opal, Gremio in The Taming of the Shrew and Dr. Haydock in Murder at the Vicarage, he appeared as the Gravedigger in Hamlet for which he received an ACT nomination. Other memorable roles include: Inherit the Wind (Drummond), King Lear (Gloucester), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Egeus), The Tempest (Gonzalo) As You Like It (Elder Duke), Death of a Salesman (Charley), Of Mice and Men (Candy) and The Deadly Game (The Judge), In addition to acting, William keeps in touch with the mining industry, substitute teaches and enjoys dancing which includes tap and soft-shoe.
Martin M. White (Dogberry) Indigenous to San Diego’s Community Theaters, this bird can be found changing his feathers to suit Shakespearean roles as well as clowns, cops, kings and a queen. Musical roles include Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, Spettigue in Charley’s Aunt and featured singing roles in Camelot. Shakespearean roles include Claudius in Hamlet, Pistol in Henry V, Clarence in Richard III. His love for theater is surpassed only by his love for his wife.
