Keith A. Anderson (Director) has been involved in theatre as an actor, director, & producer for over thirty-five years. This is his sixth production at the Playhouse; others include: The Hollow, 1997 & 1998- A Midsummer Nightâs Dream, The Tempest, I Hate Hamlet, & Social Security (he received the Playhouse Best Direction award &an Aubrey nomination for the latter two). He was Artistic Director of the Southwest Ensemble Theater in Phoenix, a professional, resident theatre for three & a half years. For seven & a half years, he was Drama Director for the City of Phoenix. While working in Los Angeles, he was Associate Director & board member of Hollywood Actorâs Theatre & was involved with TV & film. He received his M.A. in theatre from Cal State LA. Of his many productions, the most notable was his direction of the World Premiere in 1973 of William Ingeâs The Last Pad which starred then unknown actor Nick Nolte & won nominations from the LA Drama Criticsâ Circle. While serving as Drama Director for the City of Phoenix, Anderson started the Phoenix Free Shakespeare Festival, supervised over 80 citywide drama classes, & sponsored a New Playwrightâs Festival. His book, An Essay on the Meaning of Hamlet: A Directorâs Approach was published in 1979.
Mary Anderson (Co-Director) earned her BA in speech, English & drama at the University of Minnesota, her MA at SDSU in Educational Curriculum & has taught for 26 years. Both an actress & technician, Mary has also worked in all aspects of theatre, co-producing numerous professional productions with the actor/director husband, Keith. She has worked at Santa Barbara Repertory Company as a costume designer & has taught theatre classes at Grossmont & Santa Barbara City College. She currently works full-time as the library media teacher at Bonita Vista High, serves as a Mentor Teacher for technology, & works part-time as a library substitute at the Central division of San Diego Public Library. A Playhouse Board Member, this is her sixth production at the Playhouse; she won Best Costume Design for 1998 A Midsummer Nightâs Dream at the Playhouse.
Sarah Bellingrath (Stage Manager) is pleased to be joining this revival of The Mousetrap as Stage Manager. Sarah's previous stage managing experience includes school productions of The Importance of Being Earnest, Pippin, West Side Story, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Recently, she worked as House Manager for Much Ado About Nothing at the La Jolla Recreation Center. A graduate of Scripps College, Sarah currently works at CarPrices.com as a Project Manager.
Dale Goodman (Lighting Design/Set Construction) is the Owner/Operator of the Finest City Valet Service since 1980. He has been an active theatre technician since 1990, assisting youth productions with his son, Daymen, who is now performing in an amusement park in Pennsylvania after graduating from the San Diego School of Creative & Performing Arts as a song & dance man. Daleâs acting credits include work as an extra in several motion pictures & the role of Lysander in the Playhouse production of A Midsummer Nightâs Dream. Other tech credits include: Fly Master for Kiss Them & Wish Them Goodbye; technical director for The Tempest & both Playhouse productions of A Midsummer Nightâs Dream; Lights & Sound for Corpse; & Technical Direction for I Hate Hamlet for which he won an Aubrey in 1998. Dale has volunteered his time assembling sets & as a Prop Master at the Hahn Cosmopolitan, & Coronado Playhouse, & was involved in the restoration of the Casa del Prado.
Scott O. Koenig (Lighting/Sound Technician), a resident of Normal Heights, is a Navy Lieutenant at the 32nd Street Navy Base & the husband of Carolyn Wheat Koenig (Mollie Ralston). Our production of The Mousetrap that opened the seson was Scott's first play since elementary school. The Playhouse is thrilled to have his help.
Richard OâCasey (Set Construction) Born in Limerick, Ireland, Richard moved the San Diego to pursue his goals & dreams in body building & acting. By profession, a personal trainer & choreographer for body building shows & a body building national champion, he is currently taking drama classes at Mira Costa College. He has appeared in The Visit, as the Boatswain in The Tempest, & as Thomas Andrews in The Titanic. He also likes to read biographies, write stage & screen plays, & attend live theatre & film.
Carlos Prieri (Set Construction) is from Argentina. He manages the Rodeway Inn Hotel located in downtown San Diego. Carlos enjoys home remodeling, theater, movies, photography, & travel.
Suzanne Sebenaler (Set Dressing) Suzanne developed a love for theatre while in high school. Favorite roles were in The Importance of Being Earnest, Shotgun Wedding, & Catherine in Wuthering Heights. The acting torch has since been passed to daughter, Hannah, while Suzanneâs energies have turned to dressing sets here at the Coronado Playhouse, as in our successful Christmas musical, Angels Among Us.
