The Story: Agatha Christie’s most famous murder mystery focuses on a group of strangers, one of whom is a murderer, staying at Monkswell Manor, a recently-opened boarding house. The peculiar group of suspects, stranded during a snowstorm, include: Mollie and Giles Ralston (Carolyn Wheat Koenig & Mark La Fossé), the newly-married couple who run the boarding house; Miss Casewell (Lizette Kent), an abrasive young woman from "abroad" with a mysterious background; Christopher Wren (Jeffrey Lippold), a likable but deranged young architect who seems better equipped to be a chef; Major Metcalf (Alan Clark), an affable retired military man; Mr. Paravicini (Alex Sandie), a flamboyant Frenchman who claims that his car has overturned in a snowdrift; and Mrs. Boyle (Deborah Harvill-Ash) , a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst, skis Sergeant Trotter (Terence Burke) to question all present since "Monkswell Manor" was written an a note attached to a dead body found in London. As the policeman probes the background of everyone present, another murder occurs and he uncovers lies and deceptions as he discovers that everyone has hidden secrets. Even the newlyweds begin to suspect one another of murder. The Mousetrap opened at the Ambassador Theatre in London in November 1952 and never closed. Don’t miss Agatha Christie’s finest murder mystery at the Coronado Playhouse!
