John McLean (Narracott) is honored to be making his first appearance at Coronado Playhouse and for the opportunity to work with such a cohesive, talented cast. More often seen in an offstage role as either a lighting technician, set builder, producer or all-around gopher with a handy pickup truck, John and his wife Ginger are founding members in 1993 of The Clairemont Community Players. John has appeared twice in a favorite play, Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, first as Editor Webb in Clairemont Players’s inaugural production and then as the town constable in an Onstage production. Other roles include Senator Savage in The Curious Savage and the dad in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, both with the Clairemont Players, and a non-acting role as a choreographed scene-changer in Lamplighters’ production of Driving Miss Daisy which resulted in an unusual local Aubrey acting ensemble nomination of non-actors. John gives special thanks to the entire production crew including Director Bob, Asst. Director Fran, and in particular to those hard-working “kids of the theatre,” Charles Nichols, Rosemary King and Jane Russell. A licensed non-practising attorney and USMC vet, John’s favorite project this year in his other role as a County contracting officer has been the procurement of two firefighting helicopters that should be flying our skies by June.
