Jessica Hazel Purdin (Nurse Emma/Assistant Costumier) began her career in theater as an adorable 3 year-old in the church children’s choir and at her first performance wowed the entire congregation with her Moulin Rouge-style dancing to “Away in the Manger”. While she has since outgrown children’s choirs, her fondness for the stage encouraged her into many productions, such as Midsummer Night’s Dream as a Cobweb, an acrobatic fairy, Living on the Edge as Margaret, Little Women as Beth and The Sham as Clara.  She is also a proud member of The Shadow River Regulators, a historical reenactment group with a comedic bent, or, more accurately “hysterical reenacting”. She plays Donna Temperance Castellano, and prefers a derringer down the bodice to the bruising weight of her holster! Due to her work in historical reenactment, Jessica began sewing to create herself a period-correct 1878 gown and has not stopped since. She loves costuming and hopes to continue creating in this way. Jessica is excited to be working with such a talented group of people here at the Coronado Playhouse and hopes to continue to do so.
