Ivan Harrison (Charles/Assistant Director/Stage Manager) immigrated to San Diego from Nottingham, England in 1978 and became a US citizen in 1988. He is an antique furniture restoration specialist by profession, and spent 20 years racing stock cars at the local NASCAR speedway as a hobby. He lovingly tends his 1,500+ orchids in his spare time. In his youth, Ivan was lead singer for Ivan Jaye and the Jaybirds in the 1960s and made over 2,000 appearances throughout Europe. Ivan returned to the stage in 2005, appearing as Warnock Waldgrave in Coronado Playhouse’s production of The Nerd and as Joseph in My Three Angels, both directed by James Gary Byrd. Last year, he could be seen as Sgt. Froggy LaSueur in The Foreigner at Chula Vista’s OnStage Playhouse (Aubrey and Aldea awards) and as the multi-faceted Roat in Wait Until Dark at Coronado Playhouse (Aubrey nomination). Ivan would like to thank James Gary Byrd for the opportunity to act in this production of Dracula and to participate in the designing and building of the set and special effects.
